Stirling Zwartbles top at 1300gns

United Auctions held their annual sale on behalf of the Zwartbles Sheep Association on Friday 19th September. Leading the sale was an Embryo Transfer ram lamb Didcot Benji from H Hourston Orphir Orkney and sold to J Millar’s Joyfield flock near Lockerbie. Next at 1000gns was for the overall sale champion, a ram lamb East Middle Barton from C Scott Hawick selling to Webster and Smith’s Guilden flock Angus and at 650gns was Barmurrie Barbarian from G & M Smith Castle Douglas and sold to A Selway’s Welland flock Sturminster, Dorset. Shearling rams sold to a top of 500gns for Culriach Arcadius from C & K McLeod selling to A & W Wilson Peterhead Aberdeenshire.

Leading the females at 720gns for a ewe lamb was Greystone Bewitched from M McLaren selling to A Selway’s Welland flock as before and then at 620gns for Smiddy Hill Becky from C & H Duffy Stranraer selling to G McIntosh’s Ardanbeag flock Galston. Next was a lamb from O Huges Owen’s Cynefin flock selling to A & C Brandi’s Lassodie flock Fife. Shearling ewes topped at 525gns for Selside Asgudasitgets bred by R & J Lambert and sold by M McLaren to C Dimsdale’s Pelham flock Buntingford Herts and next at 380gns was a Wotton View gimmer from M Ball sold by J Thorburn to A Agar’s Liverton flock Saltburn by the Sea North Yorkshire. Aged ewes topped at 330gns for a Merkland House ewe bred by J Mackie and sold by A Baillie and T Jackson to R Heigh’s Brookdene flock Bentham North Yorkshire
