An open day was held on the farm of Trevor and Breda Horgan on Saturday 9th June. The purpose of the open day was to meet new breeders and have a discussion on the breed with more senior breeders and our show judges. The open day was well attended and a lively discussion was followed by light refreshments.
We also hosted a stand at Sheep 2012 at Athenry on 30th June which was visited by over 10,000 people where there was great interest shown in the breed.
Our South of Ireland championships were held at Clonmel show on 1st July, the results are as below.
We are also hoping to host a stand at the National ploughing Championships which will be held in Adamstown, New Ross, Co.Wexford on September 25th – 27th. This is an annual event which attracts over 200,000 visitors and is an ideal opportunity to showcase the breed.
