Sale Report for Exeter on August 23, 2019

The annual sale of Zwartbles sheep was headed by J Kimber of Okehampton who took both male and female championships and top prices in both sections. Overall Champion exhibit went to J Kimbers Ram lamb, lot 13, that was sired by Top Notch Ezra and made 600gns selling to S Mable of St Teath. Female champion was also a lamb by Top Notch Ezra and made 550gns going to her new home in St Dominic with B Wenmouth. Older females sold at 400gns for a 6T aged Ewe from Master M Northmore of Holbeton as shearling ewes reached the same money for A Coombes of Radstock who sold another at 320gns, as did J Kimber. A virtual complete clearance on the females with all the smart sorts selling from 200 to 300gns with others 130 to 190gns and more commercial sorts 80 to 120gns to give a female average price of £175. Further rams sold at 320gns for a shearling from M Northmore who also sold an older Ram and Ram lamb at 220gns.
